Feeling like locals in Mazatlan

December 4, 2014 Jacqui Belleau
A lot of fish and cervezas

As we ended up staying in Mazatlan several weeks longer than planned, we had plenty of time to slow down and try to live like a local (when we weren't rebuilding the RV).

A nice breakfast out (the day after the accident) in Tepic, Mexico. OMG a cappuccino!

A couple trucks come around to the RV park each week bringing fresh fruits and veggies. Can't beat having the grocery store come to you!

Enjoying a licuado-in-a-bag beachside. Licuado = smoothie (more or less).

Cocados for sale! A sweet, shredded coconut snack dyed in different colors.

A butcher in a small mercado hard at work.

Another delicious roadside restaurant. We went here a couple times as it was next to our main mechanic in Mazatlan.

Pina coladas and dinner with our Tres Amigos amigos.

Cameron has such the sweet tooth.

Delicious chilaquiles.

All this for $3.50. That's a dozen eggs, 2 bananas, 4 tomatoes, an onion, two jalapenos, a carrot, an avocado and a handful of green beans.

Cocktail-o'clock.

Renee set up a stand selling cocos during Semana Santa. This area of Mazatlan, Isla de la Piedra, has thousands of coconut palms.

Cooking camarones. This was the first meal we cooked once the Dolphin was ready to be lived in again. There is a street in Mazatlan with nothing but shrimp-vendors. Next time I'll snap a pic.

Plenty of fish for sharing. Keep the cervezas coming por favor!

A pastry from a different shop.
