CHRONICLES OF THE HUNGRY COUG!
On our first date, I discovered two things about Jacqui: She's got greedy eyes for food and she's older than me. The latter quickly earned her the nickname Cougar (or Coug, or Cougie), the former is a wonderful starting point to showcase all the amazing foods Jacqui devours as we drive the Americas.
As we ended up staying in Mazatlan several weeks longer than planned, we had plenty of time to slow down and try to live like a local (when we weren't rebuilding the RV).
After devouring plenty of fresh fish in Baja, we balanced out our protein with other meat when we arrived in Mazatlan. Although Mazatlan is still part of the Sea of Cortez and has mighty fine seafood themselves.
Flanked by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, it's not a hard task to find delicious seafood. Huge fish tacos could cost as little as a dollar each and many evenings we'd go to the Pescaderia to buy dinner and discover what the day's catch had been.
We didn't take too many photos as we tasted our way across the USA but there are certainly a few standouts...
